Why cleaning up after your pet is so important.

Here at WasteAway817, we want to take your pet waste away!

Why do we do it?

It seems that some consider picking up after pets something that isn't a big deal or doesn't matter, but did you know that when not properly disposed of, pet waste can spread disease and parasites and contaminate water!

Not only can pet waste carry the typical parasitic worms (hook worms, round worms, tape worms) it can also carry giardia, toxocariasis, and toxoplasmosis which in can infect humans when waste is not properly disposed of.

When pet waste is not collected and properly disposed of, it can wash into waterways and begin to deteriorate leaving all of those parasites, bacteria, and pathogens in the water. Humans might not use this water, but fish and plants and wildlife do! Not colleting and disposing of pet waste in an approved way could cause major damage to the ecosystem. How, you ask? Well, as the waste material decays, it releases it releases nitrogen and phosphorus. Those two chemical compounds deplete the water of oxygen that fish need to live and promote the growth of algae which uses up a lot of oxygen and blocks sunlight from entering water. Plants and animals both start dying when they can't get oxygen. Dying algae also uses up oxygen in the water.

So much harm caused just by not picking up after your pet!

It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it, why not let WasteAway817   help you? No more worry about getting the icky smelly stuff up and never have another stinky trash can lingering on a porch that you'd like to use for a BBQ instead!
